So, with all the Olympic games hype I've been (re)thinking my stance on all of the 'games' stuff.
Spending SO MUCH money on watching people play games and slide down hills, and dash (albeit quite gracefully) across ice is, in my mind, such a waste. Kinda like the NHL salary average. (Don't get me started!!!!!)
And with me thinking all this, does it make me a hypocrite that I took (most) of my family to the flame celebration today. Not just in Houston, but in Smithers also???
Hmmm....
We did have a blast though. The kids got excited about it after watching some clips on the internet. I painted their faces and everything. They wore red and cheered like crazy. Even Peyton was dressed in Canadian spirit appropriate clothing and didn't even attend the festivities. (Thanks for watching her Justine!!)
Call me sentimental. I LOVE Canada day. So with all this Canadian spirit being advertised, I fell for it.
And it was a once in a life time thing.
And a great photo op.
And tons of fun.
And tons of free stuff.
And the kids loved it.
And it was a family thing.
And what else would we do on a Saturday afternoon in Houston??! :)
So, even though I'm not really 'for' the Olympics, we did show our community and country spirit.
And had fun doing it!
O CANADA!!!
PS. since all the pics are on the laptop, you'll have to wait till I download some from there!
